In the 1950s and ’60s, we spent almost every waking hour during the summer time at Comstock Park and pool. We played tennis, ping pong, tossed a frisbee, or other activities while we waited for the pool to open at 1:00pm. Then we’d swim till dinner time, eat, and then go back to the pool until closing time. Swim lessons were free of charge back then, and eventually, I became a volunteer swimming teacher. My best memories were made at Comstock.
