Here I am, showing my dad how to replace spark plugs in a 1946 Chevrolet. As was the case with most of the men in our post-WWII neighborhood, my dad was a do-it-yourself type person. He was eager to show me everything he knew about fixing a car. From my dad, I learned not to be afraid to take things apart and put them back together. Fixing things – engines or even broken relationships – has always provided for me life’s greatest rewards.
