Audie Murphy was one of the most decorated soldiers of World War II. After the war, Murphy became an actor and producer. He is one of the first veterans to talk about his PTSD, and he called on the government to study the emotional impact of combat and extend healthcare benefits. Murphy made his last film in 1969, “A Time for Dying” with plans for two more films that never came to be. He died in an airplane accident on May 28, 1971.
